El mes
passat vam rebre una carta dels nostres
amics anglesos de Tollesbury School, on ens parlaven del Remembrance Day, o dia
del record. El dia 11 de Novembre al
regne Unit recorden els soldats que vam morir a les guerres i aquest any la
celebració era especial, doncs fa 100
anys del començament de la primera Guerra Mundial. Ens ha semblat interessant i
volem compartir-la amb vosaltres:
Secondly, we would like to tell you about Armistice Day here in England. It is a day of Remembrance for soliders who died in the wars. This year was a special Armistice day as it is 100 years since the start of the first world war.
We visited the war memorial at our local church to lay flowers and we wear a poppy on our clothes. The poppy is the symbol of remembrance and the money raised by selling them is used to support war survivors and their families.
This is the poppy that we wear.
We had a special assembly and we all watched a broadcast from the Tower of London where this year there have been ceramic poppies ‘planted’ for each soldier who died in the First World War. 888,246 poppies in total.
This is a picture of the poppies at the Tower of London.
We all stayed silent for two minutes at exactly 11 O’Clock on the 11th day of the 11th month, it is when the First World War ended.
It is a special day in England. Do you have any special days when you remember people who were in wars?
We hope you enjoyed hearing about some of the special things we have been doing. We look
forward to hearing from you again soon.

This is a close up picture of one of the poppies, they were all hand made.
Nosaltres hem
volgut que coneguin la nostra escola; per això els hem enviat aquest PowerPoint
amb fotografies dels diferents espais del nostre centre i de tots els grups d’alumnes.
Esperem que us agradi.
